Function:

Job Summary: The Plant Engineer provides engineering support to maintain continuous plant operations and high efficiency. This role is a key technical resource for solving problems related to stationary equipment, handling daily needs as well as program and project responsibilities. The Plant Engineer aims to improve reliability and reduce maintenance costs, supporting plant safety and mechanical integrity through developing procedures and maintenance plans.

Key Job Elements:
  1. Serves as a lead technical resource for piping systems and stationary equipment.
  2. Ensures site practices & documentation comply with PSM Mechanical Integrity standards; assists with planning, scheduling, and documentation of inspections.
  3. Coordinates repairs with maintenance teams, inspectors, and contractors, ensuring proper documentation.
  4. Develops and updates maintenance and integrity procedures.
  5. Leads troubleshooting efforts and documents findings.
  6. Conducts failure analyses and reports to prevent recurrence.
  7. Provides technical support for emergency maintenance as needed.
  8. Manages projects for equipment upgrades or replacements.
  9. Assists in specification and review of new equipment, including spare parts.
  10. Acts as mechanical acceptance specialist for new installations.
  11. Designs and implements predictive and preventive maintenance programs.
  12. Supports planning for turnarounds, shutdowns, and projects, including scheduling, parts, and crew sizing.
  13. Reviews spare parts inventory and recommends adjustments.
  14. Communicates reliability concerns effectively to management and staff.
Position Requirements:
  1. Bachelor's Degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited school, preferably Mechanical Engineering.
  2. Minimum of 3 years of maintenance/reliability engineering experience, preferably in chemical manufacturing, refining, or oil and gas industries.
  3. Knowledge of piping systems, pressure vessels, inspection techniques, and manpower coordination.
  4. Strong communication skills.
  5. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, CMMS systems like Avantis, and familiarity with industrial standards (API, ASME, ANSI, OSHA).
