Plant Director – Manufacturing Operations

Full-Time | Permanent

Salary - €115,000 - €140,000 dependant on experience

Are you a strategic and inspiring leader with a passion for operational excellence, continuous improvement, and team development? We’re looking for an experienced Plant Director to lead all manufacturing operations at our client’s Munich facility. This is a pivotal leadership role where you’ll drive safety, quality, delivery, change, and employee engagement—ensuring we meet our customer satisfaction and business goals.

About the Role

As Plant Director, you’ll be responsible for the overall management, strategic direction, investment and growth of the manufacturing site. Reporting to the VP of European Operations, you’ll lead operational teams, oversee financial performance, champion Lean Manufacturing practices, and cultivate a culture of continuous improvement and safety in line with the corporate roadmap.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Leadership

  • Lead day-to-day manufacturing operations with a focus on productivity, quality, and efficiency.
  • Develop and implement strategies to optimize output and meet production schedules.
  • Implement, track and act on key performance indicators (KPIs).

Safety and Compliance

  • Promote a strong safety culture and ensure full compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Lead site efforts to mitigate risks and engage employees in hazard identification and reporting.

Financial Management

  • Own and manage the site budget, driving cost control and resource optimization.
  • Deliver cost-saving initiatives without compromising operational excellence.

Continuous Improvement

  • Drive Lean Manufacturing initiatives according to the corporate roadmap.
  • Identify and eliminate non-value-added activities and encourage innovation and best practices.
  • Encourage innovation and adoption of new technologies and processes.

Leadership & People Development

  • Lead, mentor, and develop the site leadership team to deliver outstanding results.
  • Foster a collaborative and accountable work environment where employees are empowered to contribute and grow.
  • Ensure robust workforce planning, training, and development aligned to current and future needs.
