Your new role

As our new Pipeline Engineer (m/w/d), you will be part of a team of process and other discipline engineers located in Germany and abroad. You will tackle interesting, challenging, and varied projects within the Energy sector, participating in the transition to greener fuels such as Hydrogen, methanol, and ammonia, as well as CO2 storage and transport within CCUS projects. We are a busy and energetic team with a positive mindset, always looking for the next challenge. We work on early phase studies (Feasibility, Concept, and FEED) as well as detailed design projects, mainly for onshore facilities within Hydrogen and Power to X technologies, Gas, LNG, and CO2 transport and storage. Our focus as Ramboll Germany is on the local market, but we also have projects within Denmark, Europe, and other parts of the world.

Your key responsibilities will be:

  1. Participate in multidiscipline project teams in all execution phases from early development to construction within sustainable energy projects.
  2. Design pipeline systems, considering route optimization, hydraulic analysis, and environmental impact.
  3. Select appropriate materials, coatings, and corrosion protection measures for pipeline construction to maximize longevity and safety.
  4. Perform CAPEX Cost Engineering and Supplier Management.
  5. Ensure compliance with local, national, and international codes, standards, and regulations governing pipeline construction and operation.
  6. Prepare process-related documentation for Concept or FEED studies.
  7. Participate in HAZOP/HAZID Studies.
  8. Potential involvement in site supervision and assistance during commissioning and start-up (FAT / SAT).

About you

We support your personal and professional development from day one. To succeed in this role, we have identified some key qualifications, skills, and capabilities:

  • B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related field.
  • Approximately 4-7 years of experience in pipeline engineering, including design, construction, and integrity management, preferably in the Power-to-X sector or CCUS.
  • Solid knowledge of pipeline design codes and industry standards.
  • Strong project management skills and effective teamwork abilities.
  • Experience with electrolysis and synthesis processes for Hydrogen, methanol, ammonia, or liquid CO2 is highly valued.
  • Excellent English skills; German language proficiency is required.
