A summer with distinction. In 2025, the world will come to the Rhine and Ruhr region to celebrate sport, science, and culture. Up to 8,500 athletes and officials from around 150 nations will compete in six cities over 12 days in 18 different sports. This region boasts the densest university landscape in Europe and the most sports clubs in Germany, making it an ideal setting for the Games.

The perfect place for the FISU WORLD UNIVERSITY GAMES—and for you. To strengthen our team, we are looking from 13 to 25 July 2025 for a Physiotherapist (m/f/d).

This is a freelance, fee-for-service position for the organizing company of the Rhine-Ruhr 2025 FISU World University Games, located within the Medical Services department. As a physiotherapist, you will play a vital role in the health and performance of the athletes.

We are hiring for the following locations and sports:

• Berlin: Diving / Swimming
  Vienna House by Wyndham Andel´s Berlin: 15.07 – 22.07 (approx. 09:00 – 17:30 CEST)
• Berlin: Volleyball
  H2/H4 Berlin Alexanderplatz: 16.07 – 23.07 (approx. 15:00 – 22:00 CEST)
• Essen: Judo / Fencing / Taekwondo / Table Tennis / Artistic Gymnastics / Rhythmic Gymnastics
  Messe Essen: 14.07 – 15.07 (approx. 12:00 – 18:00 CEST), 23.07 – 26.07 (approx. 12:00 – 21:00 CEST), 25.07 (08:00 – 17:00 CEST)
• Duisburg: Rowing / Beach Volleyball / Water Polo
  Sportschule Wedau: 17.07 – 20.07 (approx. 10:00 – 18:00 CEST)
• Bochum: Athletics
  Lorheidestadion: 18.07 (approx. 13:00 – 19:00 CEST)
• Mülheim: Badminton
  Westenergie Sporthalle: 25.07 – 26.07 (approx. 12:00 – 16:00 CEST)

It is possible to apply for individual event days.

Main Tasks:

• Providing treatments to prevent injuries, including targeted taping to support and stabilize joints and muscles.
• Immediate treatment of acute injuries such as sprains, strains, or bruises during competitions.
• Therapeutic measures to relieve pain and promote recovery after injuries.
• Supporting athlete regeneration through massages, cold and heat applications, and manual techniques.
• Coordination with emergency services and medical specialists in emergencies and special medical cases.

Required Skills & Knowledge:

• Degree as a physiotherapist
• Experience in treating sports injuries and working with athletes
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Flexibility and an engaging manner
• Basic English knowledge

Own professional liability insurance is required to cover claims.

The position pays a net hourly wage of EUR 20. Travel expenses will be reimbursed per North Rhine-Westphalia regulations.
