Novaled GmbH, a leading OLED materials R&D company, invites a Physicist – Organic Electronics R&D to join the n-side group and contribute to innovative materials and OLED device development. You will independently develop, evaluate, and fabricate OLED materials and devices, analyze data, and collaborate with chemists, physicists, and engineers across internal and external partners.

Novaled GmbH is a research and development company and the world's leading supplier of special chemicals for the application in organic light emitting diodes (OLEDs). Novaled's products can be found in most AMOLED displays, including smartphones, TVs and smartwatches. Novaled‘s main shareholder is Samsung SDI.

YOUR ROLE:

To strengthen our n-side Group, we are looking for a Physicist – Organic Electronics R&D (m/f/d) to contribute to the development and evaluation of innovative materials and OLED technologies.

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Independently develop, evaluate, and characterize materials with relevance to OLED applications and business needs, including documentation and data analysis
• Fabricate, optimize, and characterize OLED devices
• Develop technical solutions based on internal and external customer requirements
• Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary teams of chemists, physicists, and engineers, as well as external partners and customers
• Identify potentially patentable technical solutions and actively contribute to the generation and protection of intellectual property (IP)
• Proactively drive innovation and contribute to the continuous improvement of R&D processes

YOUR PROFILE:

• Master’s degree or Ph.D. in physics, physical chemistry, materials science, or a related field
• Several years of experience in organic electronics/OLEDs, ideally with a strong focus on OLED material design and development
• Strong understanding of structure–property relationships and the interplay between molecular structure, material properties, and device performance
• Knowledge of quantum-mechanical/quantum-chemical calculations for investigating molecular and electronic properties is an advantage
• Solid chemical understanding of organic materials and their functional groups
• Hands-on experience in OLED fabrication, thin-film characterization, and device analysis
• Analytical, proactive, and solution-oriented mindset with strong communication and teamwork skills
• Excellent English skills; knowledge of German is an advantage
