KIT operates the HIKA experimental station at the PETRA III storage ring at the German Electron Synchrotron (DESY) in Hamburg. Your responsibilities will include operating and further developing the HIKA experimental station at PETRA III, planning the expansion of the station as the first phase beamline BL22 at PETRA IV, and conducting research on the development of methods and instruments for X-ray imaging with synchrotron radiation for use in materials research and / or the life sciences. You have a university degree (master's) in physics or a comparable field, a completed doctorate, long-term experience in the field of X-ray imaging with synchrotron radiation, in particular in modern 2D and 3D resolving X-ray imaging in the hard X-ray range (hierarchical imaging, including X-ray transmission microscopy, phase contrast imaging, dose-efficient X-ray imaging, and / or synchrotron laminography), experience in project management and staff leadership, as well as good written and spoken English skills
