Job description

KIT operates the HIKA experimental station at the PETRA III storage ring at the German Electron Synchrotron (DESY) in Hamburg. Your responsibilities will include operating and further developing the HIKA experimental station at PETRA III, planning the expansion of the station as the first phase beamline BL22 at PETRA IV, and conducting research on the development of methods and instruments for X-ray imaging with synchrotron radiation for use in materials research and / or the life sciences. Specifically, you will have the following tasks and responsibilities :

  • Coordination of experimental operations and project work
  • Planning, implementation, and evaluation of experiments
  • Research and method development for applications of X-ray imaging in materials research (hierarchical 3D imaging for in situ and operando structural investigations) and / or the life sciences (in particular for morphological 3D and in vivo imaging)
  • Publication of research results
  • Collaboration with interdisciplinary teams

Personal qualification
