The Department of Psychology's research group on “Digitalization in Psychological Domains” is accepting applications for a Doctoral Researcher/PhD. The position is offered for 3 years, starting as soon as possible. It is part-time (65% of full-time hours) with salary and benefits based on public service pay scale in Hesse, Germany (TV-H E 13, 65%).
The research group explores the impact of digital technologies like smartphones and social media on human well-being, including psychological, physiological, and social aspects. The group employs research designs such as experience sampling, daily diaries, and field experiments, integrating mobile sensing, behavioral traces, and physiological measures like actigraphy.
The position is limited to the duration necessary for completing a doctoral degree. It offers ample opportunity for independent research. Candidates are expected to demonstrate a strong academic background in Psychology (MSc or equivalent), interest in the group's research topics, and enthusiasm for scientific work. Proficiency in English is required; German skills are desirable or willingness to learn.
Applicants should have strong quantitative analysis skills, experience or interest in longitudinal studies and behavioral data collection, and programming skills with large datasets are advantageous.
