The Chair of Theoretical Chemistry at TU Dresden, led by Prof. Thomas Heine, is seeking a PhD student to start as soon as possible. The work is part of the ERC Synergy grant 2DPolyMembrane and involves using molecular dynamic and quantum chemistry methods to simulate ion transport through atomically thin membranes made of 2D polymers and graphene derivatives. The project is in close collaboration with experimental groups at MPI Halle/DE and Leiden University/NL. The successful candidate will participate in networking activities, including regular research visits to partner laboratories.
Formal requirements include a master's degree in chemistry, physics, or related fields, completed before the start of enrollment.
