We are seeking a motivated PhD student to join our interdisciplinary research team working on multimodal imaging of inflammation and cancer using shape- and size-tunable self assemblies (aza-BODIPYI) as contrast agents. This project is part of the Collaborative Research Centre (CRC) 1450/“Insight - Multiscale imaging of organ-specific inflammation” and aims to develop and apply advanced imaging tools to study immune cell dynamics in murine models of inflammation and cancer.

Responsibilities

  • Performing multimodal and multiscale in vitro and in vivo imaging (FRI, PAI/MSOT, MRI) of immune cell behavior using novel nanostructured contrast agents
  • Labeling and tracking immune cells in cell culture and murine models of inflammation and cancer
  • Conducting histological analysis for validation and correlation of imaging results
  • Analyzing imaging data and contributing to the interpretation of immune-related processes
  • Participating in the CRC 1450 graduate school and presenting research findings at internal meetings and international conferences

REQUIREMENTS:

  • A master’s degree in Biology, Biomedical Imaging, Biochemistry, Physics, or a related field
  • A strong interest in biomedical imaging, contrast agent development, immune cell tracking, and data analysis
  • Experience with imaging techniques or in vivo experimental models is beneficial
  • Motivation for scientific work and willingness to contribute to an interdisciplinary team
  • Good English communication skills (spoken and written); German skills are advantageous
