We are UKM. We have a clear social mission and, with our focus on healthcare, research, and teaching, we bear a unique responsibility. To meet our high standards every day, we are looking forward to your scientific expertise at the Institute of Molecular Tumor Biology – ideally with you on board!

Our internationally renowned research team investigates cellular programs of gene control, epigenetics and signal transduction of mammalian cells, with a focus on cells of the innate immune system such as macrophages and neutrophils. In particular, we explore mechanisms of malignant transformation, cellular differentiation and the control of immune cell effector functions. Such understanding is essential for the development of new therapies against cancer and infectious diseases. Further information on our work can be found on our homepage and in our publications.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct a cutting-edge research project on the epigenetic role by transcription factors in the immune functions of neutrophils.
  • Collaborate with the team to study how neutrophils contribute to inflammatory diseases and cancer as a therapeutic target.
  • Engage in state-of-the-art molecular and cell biology techniques, including in vivo disease models, multi-omics and single-cell analyses.
Qualifications
  • Master's degree in biology or biochemistry.
  • Experience with tissue culture and standard molecular biology methods.
  • Basic knowledge of computer programming (R) and hands-on experience with laboratory mice is advantageous.
  • Good knowledge of the English language.
