An innovative research center is looking for a motivated PhD student to work on Perovskite/CIGS tandem thin-film solar cells. This exciting opportunity involves collaborating with a team of scientists to fabricate and analyze advanced solar cells, contributing to sustainable energy solutions. The role offers a chance to develop your research skills, present findings at international conferences, and be part of a diverse and inclusive work environment. Join a forward-thinking organization committed to a climate-neutral future and take the next step in your academic career.
CIGS-based thin film solar cell technologies have been a core topic at the Competence Centre Photovoltaics (PVcomB) since its foundation in 2010. In combination with Perovskite solar cells, the resulting all-thin-film tandem devices can be fabricated on flexible and lightweight substrates and are capable of surpassing the efficiency values of established thin film solar cell technologies. However, challenges remain regarding upscaling and longevity of this complex device architecture. To address these aspects experimentally and through numerical device simulation, we are seeking inquisitive, motivated, and enthusiastic candidates for a PhD project. If this interests you, we look forward to your application.
Fixed term: 48 months. Salary according to TVöD-Bund.
Please submit a motivation letter and recent certificates via our application system by 13.05.2025. Applications by other means cannot be considered due to data protection regulations.
