The Institute of Fluid Dynamics is conducting basic and applied research in the fields of thermo-fluid dynamics and magnetohydrodynamics in order to improve the sustainability, the energy efficiency and the safety of industrial processes.

The Group Electrochemical Systems is looking for a PhD Student (f/m/d) for fuel cell electrode test. The recruitment is subject to project approval.

Your tasks

• Carrying out experiments on fuel cell performance test.
• Characterization of electrode activity by electrochemical measurements.
• Testing the permeability of membrane electrode assembly for fuel cells.

Your profile

• Completed university studies (Master/Diploma) in the field of Mechanical Engineering, Process Engineering, Chemistry, Physics or related field.
• Very good knowledge of electrochemistry and experience with fuel cell testing.
• Ability to cooperate across disciplines in an international environment.
• Independent, structured and target-oriented way of working.
• Software skills in Python and Matlab.
• Very good English skills and basic German skills.
