Jobbeschreibung

At Torc, we have always believed that autonomous vehicle technology will transform how we travel, move freight, and do business.

A leader in autonomous driving since 2007, Torc has spent over a decade commercializing our solutions with experienced partners. We are focused solely on developing software for automated trucks to transform how the world moves freight.

Join us and elevate your career with the company that helped pioneer autonomous technology and is the first AV software company to partner directly with a truck manufacturer.

As a forefront organization in autonomous driving, we have gathered extensive sensor data providing deep insights into various driving environments and scenarios. Within the AI Foundation Department, our strategic focus is to integrate foundational computer vision techniques to harness their full potential and advance capabilities for future needs.

We are actively seeking three PhD candidates passionate about generative neural networks, simulation, and training large foundational models. This role is crucial in refining our data assets to maximize value. Leveraging our sensor data, applying generative neural networks with cutting-edge machine learning techniques such as self-supervised learning can identify complex patterns and nuances, enabling more intelligent, data-driven decision-making.

You will collaborate with renowned research organizations in the United States and Germany, pushing the boundaries of what current sensors and algorithms can achieve, participate in international conferences, and publish your work.

Minimum Skills Required:

  • Completion or near-completion of a Master's degree with high honors in a quantitative discipline such as Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, or related fields.
  • Fluency in English and/or German
  • Strong programming skills in an object-oriented language like Python or C++
  • Familiarity with Linux
  • Ability to think proactively and work independently
  • Experience with deep learning frameworks such as TensorFlow or PyTorch

Nice to Have:

  • Knowledge of object detection, tracking, reinforcement learning, or generative networks
  • Experience with ROS

Bonus Points:

  • Experience with cloud computing services like Slurm, AWS, or Azure
  • Published work in conferences such as CVPR, ICML, ECCV, ICCV, or Siggraph
  • Experience with optimization methods
  • Familiarity with sensors like LiDAR, RADAR, or cameras

Please include your university transcripts (Studiennachweise, Zeugnisse) with your resume.
