The Max Planck Institute invites applications for a PhD position focusing on AI in optical science and biophysics. Candidates will engage in cutting-edge research involving advanced imaging techniques. Join a prestigious team to contribute to groundbreaking studies on biomolecular structures at the nanoscale.
The Department of Prof. Dr. Stefan W. Hell invites applications for aPhD position exploring AI approaches in optical science, molecular imaging and biophysics. Opportunities are available in Göttingen or Heidelberg for highly motivated candidates to join a world-leading, multidisciplinary research group. The candidate can apply for admission to theMax Planck School of Photonicsor theGöttingen Graduate Center for Neurosciences, Biophysics, and Molecular Biosciences (GGNB).
The PhD student will work on novel AI-aided data analytics, especially of dynamic single-molecule datasets from MINFLUX and MINSTED experiments to study biomolecules with optics. MINFLUX and MINSTED have unlocked the door to unique minimally invasive, low-light-level analysis of the structure and dynamics of macromolecules at the nanometer scale. This includes experiments at 1‑nm resolution and with Angström measurement precision.
