An innovative research opportunity awaits you at a prestigious institution, focusing on climate and tectonic interactions through advanced modeling techniques. Join a dynamic team dedicated to building a Digital Twin of the subsurface of North Central Europe, contributing to vital simulations that assess climate impacts on groundwater resources and energy storage. This role promises ambitious tasks in an international research environment, extensive training, and flexible working conditions. If you are an early-stage researcher eager to make a significant impact in the field of geosciences, this position is perfect for you.
This position is part of the EU-funded Marie Skłodowska-Curie Doctoral Network „Climate-Tectonics Interactions using Big Data informed Models“ (INITIATE). We are seeking a candidate to build a Digital Twin of the subsurface of North Central Europe as a basis for 3D simulations of coupled thermo-hydraulic-mechanical (THM) processes considering different climate scenarios. The objective is to assess the influence of present and past climate changes on the THM configuration, relevant for groundwater resources, heat and energy storage, geothermal energy production, and nuclear waste deposition.
