We are actively working on CO2 reduction techniques for blast furnace-based iron production, including the development of the EASyMelt concept, which integrates plasma torches.

Responsibilities
  • Design and simulate plasma torches for industrial applications using software such as OpenFOAM or Code_saturne
  • Run the developed OpenFOAM solver for different scenarios
  • Estimate thermodynamic and transport properties of plasma using statistical mechanics
  • Collaborate with experimental teams to validate and improve simulation models
Qualifications
  • PhD or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Physics, or a related field
  • Strong understanding of numerical methods and plasma physics
  • Experience with numerical simulations using OpenFOAM or similar software
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as C++ or Python
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Proficiency in English; French or German skills are advantageous
