We are seeking a PhD – Plasma Torch Simulation Engineer (m/f/d) to design and simulate plasma torches for industrial applications, collaborating with engineers and researchers to develop innovative solutions.

  • Run the OpenFOAM Solver for various scenarios.
  • Estimate thermodynamic and transport properties of plasma using statistical mechanics.
  • Develop numerical models for plasma torches using simulation software like OpenFOAM or Code_saturne.
  • Collaborate with experimental teams to validate and improve models.
  • Qualifications: PhD or Master’s in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Physics, or related fields.
  • Strong understanding of numerical methods, plasma physics, and experience with simulation software such as OpenFOAM.
  • Programming skills in C++ or Python.
  • Analytical, problem-solving skills, and ability to work in a team.
  • Proficiency in English; French or German is advantageous.
