Position: PhD – Plasma Torch Simulation Engineer (m/f/d)

In this role, you will design and simulate plasma torches for industrial applications, collaborating with engineers and researchers to develop innovative solutions.

Responsibilities:
  • Run OpenFOAM Solver simulations for various scenarios.
  • Estimate thermodynamic and transport properties of plasma using statistical mechanics.
  • Develop numerical models for plasma torches using simulation software like OpenFOAM or Code_saturne.
  • Collaborate with experimental teams to validate and improve models.
Qualifications:
  • PhD or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Physics, or related fields.
  • Strong understanding of numerical methods and plasma physics.
  • Experience with numerical simulations in software such as OpenFOAM.
  • Proficiency in programming languages like C++ or Python.
  • Analytical, problem-solving skills, and ability to work in a team.
  • Fluent in English; French or German skills are a plus.
