Paul Wurth is actively working on CO2 reduction approaches for blast furnace-based iron production, focusing on innovative solutions like the EASyMelt concept, which integrates plasma torches.
We are seeking a PhD – Plasma Torch Simulation Engineer (m/f/d).
The primary responsibilities include designing and simulating plasma torches for industrial applications, collaborating with engineers and researchers to develop innovative plasma torch solutions, and utilizing software such as OpenFOAM or Code_saturne for simulations. Responsibilities also involve running the developed OpenFOAM Solver for various scenarios, estimating thermodynamic and transport properties of plasma using statistical mechanics, developing numerical models, and validating simulation results with experimental teams.
