The MobiliTraIN network is a Marie Sklodowska-Curie Action Doctoral Network focused on ion mobility high-resolution mass spectrometry (IM-HRMS). It aims to develop new understanding, standardization, and application methods in biopharmaceuticals, omics, and contaminant screening, training 13 doctoral candidates across Europe.

The candidate will be employed by Bruker Daltonics in Bremen and enrolled at Jena University Hospital. They will investigate fundamental properties of tandem ion mobility spectrometry (TIMS) devices, collaborating across research labs to develop biomedical workflows and interpret results.

Key tasks include:

  • Analyzing ion temperature effects on fragmentation in TIMS.
  • Developing a 1st order CCS determination method.
  • Applying TIMS technology insights to biomedical research.
  • Comparing physical properties across ion mobility techniques.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Physics, Physical Chemistry, or related field.
  • Experience in ion mobility spectrometry, mass spectrometry, ion optics, Python programming, or instrument development.
  • Strong analytical and innovative skills.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Scientific publication experience.
  • Proficiency in English; German skills beneficial.
