An innovative company is seeking a proactive researcher to explore the degradation mechanisms of PEM electrolyzers. This exciting role involves collaborating with an international team to develop analytical methods and establish ageing models for green hydrogen production technologies. You will have the opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research and publish findings in high-impact journals. The company values diversity and inclusion, offering flexible working models and a supportive environment for all applicants. Join us in shaping the future of sustainable energy!
Company Description
At Bosch, we shape the future by inventing high-quality technologies and services that spark enthusiasm and enrich people’s lives. Our promise to our associates is rock-solid: We grow together, we enjoy our work, and we inspire each other. Welcome to Bosch.
The Robert Bosch GmbH is looking forward to your application!
Proton-exchange membrane (PEM) electrolysis is one of the commercially available technologies for green hydrogen production. Understanding the ageing behaviors of PEM electrolyzer components under industrially relevant operation conditions is of paramount importance for developing a low-cost and robust PEM electrolyzer stack, as well as further improving the stack operation strategy.
You will work on identifying and understanding the degradation mechanisms of one core component in the PEM electrolyzers. Both electrochemical and analytical methods will be developed and validated as ageing descriptors in this project. Through the design of experiments (DOE) at sub-scale, the main ageing stressors of the individual component are captured, and degradation mechanisms are elucidated. Based on this understanding, a specific ageing model will be established to predict the state of health (SoH) under industrial operation conditions.
