Oversees the acquisition and disbursement of drugs and medications to various offices, clinics, and other sites. Provides education, guidance, and training to students, pharmacy interns, and trainees during their course of work, and monitors their performance. Establishes and maintains methods and systems for storage and record keeping to ensure the safekeeping of pharmaceuticals. May take patient histories as required, perform initial clinical assessments, and refer patients to appropriate clinicians. Performs routine quality control testing of equipment, environment, and record keeping as mandated by federal, state, and local regulations. Follows established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives, including continuous quality improvement, safety, environmental, and infection control standards. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
