Arup’s purpose, shared values and collaborative approach has set us apart for over 75 years, guiding how we shape a better world.
Help us build the future of pharmaceutical manufacturing - sustainably, holistically, and globally.

The Opportunity

We are establishing a new pharmaceutical process engineering capability in Germany, and we’re looking for passionate individuals at all levels of seniority to help us shape it - from the ground up. Whether your expertise lies in fill/finish, biologics, clean utilities, packaging, or project management, you’ll have the opportunity to contribute to a new and growing team delivering high-impact work for global clients across Germany and Europe.

As a Pharmaceutical Process Engineer at Arup, you will:

  • Support major capital projects and global programs from strategy and concept design through to commissioning and qualification—working across both technical delivery and consulting services.
  • Collaborate with our digital and sustainability experts to redefine what’s possible in facility design, bringing intelligent, data-driven, and sustainable solutions to the life sciences sector.

Does this role inspire you?

We're looking for people with a strong foundation in a specific area of technical excellence, combined with a holistic mindset, intellectual curiosity, and the drive to challenge what’s possible in every project.

We also value:

  • Experience delivering major life science capital projects, ideally across multiple project phases, from pre-feasibility through to completion.
  • A mindset of continuous improvement, with the confidence to question, adapt, and task calculated risks.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to lead and inspire others, regardless of seniority or formal roles.

Why Arup?

At Arup, we believe in rewarding our members for their contributions to our shared success. As a trust-owned company, we have the freedom to pursue meaningful work that aligns with our purpose and values. We also offer a unique profit share program, allowing our members to share in the results of our collective efforts.

Benefits that work for you:

  • Professional Growth & Development: Benefit from continuous learning opportunities, training programs, and mentorship to enhance your skills and advance your career at Arup.
  • Global Opportunities: Collaborate with colleagues worldwide and explore potential short-term or long-term assignments at other Arup offices and project locations.
  • Financial Well-being & Ownership: Receive a competitive salary and benefits package and share in Arup's success through our global profit-sharing programme.
  • Flexible working: The choice between a full-time or part-time model, working from home up to 3 days a week and up to 20 days a year from another country.
  • Well-being & Family: Company pension scheme, occupational disability insurance, mobility (e.g. Swapfiet's rental bike), daycare subsidy of up to 150 euros per month, and in Berlin we also offer a daycare place with our cooperation partner if required.

At Arup, you belong to an extraordinary collective where individuality is encouraged. Our strength comes from how we respect, share, and connect our diverse experiences, perspectives, and ideas. You'll have the opportunity to do socially useful work that has meaning – to Arup, to your career, and to the clients and communities we serve.

We are proud to be an equal opportunity employer and are committed to building a workplace that reflects the rich diversity of the world around us. We actively promote a culture of inclusion where everyone feels welcome, respected, and valued.

We welcome applications from talented individuals of all backgrounds, regardless of age (within legal limits), gender identity or expression, disability, ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation, or any other protected characteristic.
