A leading research institute is seeking a highly motivated Ph.D. student to join their Nanoscale Optical Bioimaging group. The role involves developing innovative optical microscopy techniques and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to advance biological research. Candidates should have a strong background in microscopy development and programming skills.
The Nanoscale Optical Bioimaging group aims at developing innovative optical microscopy techniques to create new tools for studying biological processes in real time at nanoscale resolution. Our lab is rooted in the belief that scientific challenges can be overcome by combining ideas and approaches from different disciplines. Therefore multidisciplinary research encompassing biology, chemistry, physics and engineering is at the core of our work.
We are looking for a highly motivated student with a strong interest in microscopy development and bioimaging. Our work depends on interdisciplinary research and collaboration with biological research groups. The research project aims at developing and constructing innovative microscopes which push beyond the current limitations of optical microscopy and to apply them in biological research.
The full-time position is available immediately. Ph.D. students are awarded a four-year appointment after a successful evaluation by the International Max Planck Research School for Cell, Developmental, and Systems Biology (IMPRS-CellDevoSys). Salary and social benefits will be under the regulations of the German TVöD Bund (salary agreement for public service employees).
Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis until the position is filled. The application should include the following materials:
Please submit your application stating the Code 2025-Predoc-Bioimaging-2430 via our online application system.
