Jobbeschreibung

This position provides personal financial services at assigned military installations. The primary responsibilities include delivering comprehensive financial counseling to military service members and their families. Services encompass one-on-one counseling, consultations with commanders or staff, conducting briefings and presentations, and referring participants to external resources when appropriate. The role involves collaborating with installation and military branch Points of Contact (POC) to ensure the program meets installation needs within scope.

Key duties include:

  1. Providing personal financial counseling and management services to service members and their families.
  2. Assisting in establishing spending plans for extended absences.
  3. Developing and distributing financial informational materials.
  4. Coordinating and publicizing Financial Management classes/workshops across various military lifecycle topics, including arrival at first duty station, pre- and post-deployment, and personal/career events.
  5. Responding to requests for age-appropriate classes or seminars.
  6. Utilizing virtual counseling and electronic communication modes effectively, such as web-based, online chat, or video conferencing, as authorized by the OSD FINRED Program.
  7. Managing duty-to-warn situations per DoD protocol.
  8. Communicating with leadership and participating in supervision and training activities, sharing trends and issues.
  9. Engaging in in-services, quality improvement, or other contractual activities as assigned.
  10. Performing all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications include:

  • Bachelor's degree required; consideration for an associate degree plus 4 years' experience or a high school diploma plus 6 years' experience.
  • Citizenship and fluent English; bilingual in English and Spanish if required by contract.
  • Ability to obtain a favorable Tier 2 investigation.
  • Certifications such as AFC, CFP, or ChFC are required.
  • Over 1,000 hours of financial counseling experience.
