Pediatric LPN - Children's Secret Garden

  • Position: Licensed Practical Nurse
  • Location: Dover, DE
  • Hours: Flexible Hours | Full Time | 30-40 hours/weekly |

THE POSITION:

  • Assist RN in implementing care protocols to meet patient needs.
  • Administer medications and treatments as per protocols.
  • Evaluate effectiveness of prescribed services and interventions.
  • Collaborate with RN to update care protocols based on patient's clinical status.
  • Educate and support patients and families in disease management and care.
  • Communicate patient observations promptly to primary/specialty physician.
  • Maintain accurate medical records reflecting nursing interventions and patient progress.
  • Uphold patient dignity, confidentiality, and advocate for their well-being.
  • Promote optimal growth and development of each child.
  • Ensure continuity of care by collaborating with nursing team and other professionals.
  • Adhere to legal and ethical standards of nursing practice.
  • Follow infection control protocols and maintain safety standards.
  • Maintain pediatric CPR certification and respond to emergencies effectively.
  • Participate in educational programs and staff meetings for professional development.
  • Comply with company policies, procedures, and dress code.
  • Assist with procedures and technical nursing skills per standards.
  • Perform intravenous therapy and other nursing procedures as required.
  • Manage patient and company supplies efficiently.
  • Report patient care issues and participate in problem resolution.

Transport (PPEC Facility Only):

  • Safeguard children during transport to/from PPEC Center.
  • Respond to emergencies; activate EMS if needed.
  • Maintain and inventory emergency medical equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with transport policies and procedures.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing for Licensed Practical Nurses.
  • Current State licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse.
  • Maintenance of professional knowledge and skills through attending continuing education and/or state required training hours.
  • Minimum of two years pediatric nursing experience.
  • Completion of a pediatric basic life support certification course; current CPR card.
  • PALS & NRP Certification preferred.
  • Knowledge of Delaware’s OCCL and PPEC Regulations.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Valid Driver's License and proof of current vehicle insurance.
