Your role

We are looking for a detail-oriented and highly experienced Payroll Specialist to join our team. You will be responsible for managing payroll for the University employees in an accurate and timely manner, maintaining rigorous payroll records and ensuring compliance with Luxembourg regulations.

Key responsibilities
  • Accurate and timely processing of in-house payroll for all UL employees
  • Maintaining payroll records and employee data in SAP
  • Review and reconcile payroll reports, identifying and correcting errors before final submission
  • Manage Employees\' deductions such as benefits, garnishments, parking, insurance and retirement contributions
  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll, deductions, and payroll policies in a timely and professional manner
  • Maintain regular contact with public administrations for compliance, audit reasons and follow-up on employee-related files
  • Support internally the other HR teams and provide guidance for all payroll related questions
  • Assist payroll manager with internal / external audits, compliance checks, and year-end reporting
  • Ensure compliance with Luxembourg labor laws, social security regulations and UL policies
  • Collaborate internally with other departments at the UL to ensure alignment on compensation, benefits, and reporting
  • Actively participate in the continuous improvement of payroll processes and recommend system enhancements
  • Maintain knowledge of payroll legislation and company best practices
Your profile
  • Minimum Bachelor\'s degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or related field (preferred)
  • 5+ years of payroll experience in a fiduciary or big organization (in-house); previous experience in multinational payroll is a plus
  • Strong knowledge of Luxembourg payroll regulations, social security, labor laws and tax compliance
  • Proficiency with payroll systems (ideally SAP or similar) and MS Office, especially Excel (advanced)
  • Business fluent in English and French. Any other EU language is an asset

  • Experience with HRIS (SAP is a plus)
  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to handle confidential information with integrity and discretion
