As Via's Payroll Manager for Germany, you will manage the full employee payroll process from preparation, records maintenance, and monthly financial reporting for Via’s 600+ employees in the region. You will help shape the payroll function of Via’s rapidly expanding organization in Europe while collaborating with colleagues from Via’s Finance team around the world.

What You’ll Do
  • Work closely with Via’s external payroll partner to drive the monthly payroll process for Via in Germany, collaborating with Via’s Finance and People teams to ensure accurate and timely payroll submissions.
  • Understand German tax requirements, changes in wage and tax laws, and other regulatory changes impacting payroll.
  • Perform periodic audits of payroll data to ensure accuracy of employee pay information. Design and implement process improvements and internal controls.
  • Ensure benefit deductions and tax withholdings are calculated and reported accurately and on time.
  • Lead all aspects of the monthly financial reporting related to payroll, including preparing journal entries and reconciling general ledger accounts.
  • Serve as the main point-of-contact for employees regarding pay questions.
  • Perform ad-hoc projects and support the broader team as needed.
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding all payroll information and employee privacy initiatives.
Who You Are
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant payroll experience in Germany.
  • Tech-savvy with a strong understanding of HRIS systems like P&I Loga and proficiency in advanced Microsoft Excel.
  • Ability to perform payroll tasks accurately, completely, and timely with minimal supervision.
  • Passionate about improving processes and developing innovative solutions.
  • Detail-oriented and committed to high accuracy.
  • Experience partnering with internal teams and managing multiple priorities.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, able to interact across different organizational levels.
  • Fluent in German and English; additional languages are a plus.
