THE ROLE

As the Senior Payroll Specialist, you will be a subject matter expert (SME) in all areas of payroll processing. You will analyze and respond to complex issues requiring comprehensive payroll knowledge. You will also be responsible for training and coaching colleagues to enable their success. Additionally, you will support the sales process by sharing payroll practices, legislation requirements, and key information to facilitate the sales lifecycle. Collaboration with the technical team and maintaining country solutions are also key aspects of this role.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Support and process payroll end-to-end according to standards and client requirements, including all related tasks and transactions.
  2. Ensure adherence to the payroll calendar, managing deviations through change control processes.
  3. Utilize the hrX suite of tools related to payroll processing and activities.
  4. Conduct Root Cause Analyses (RCA) for issues leading to client escalations and implement mitigation actions.
  5. Identify upsell opportunities and support Change Requests when deviations from the standard scope are identified, including estimating and implementing changes.
  6. Understand and generate standard and client-specific payroll reports, including statutory year-end reporting as required.
  7. Maintain current knowledge of legislation, system updates, and payroll procedures, managing the payroll legislation roadmap.
  8. Respond to payroll questions and requests from the team and clients, supporting the Operations Manager with client engagement.
  9. Update and enforce usage of Defined Work Instructions (DWIs) and other documentation.
  10. Support the sales lifecycle with payroll practices and legislation expertise.
  11. Handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately.
  12. Resolve technical and functional issues escalated from team members and clients.
  13. Support and maintain country solutions and provide functional support as needed.
  14. Ensure compliant use of all systems and coordinate technical issue resolution.
  15. Participate in innovation activities and support project implementations and go-lives.
  16. Engage in assigned projects to support continuous improvement.
