Job summary

JGA Recruitment Group | B Corp™ is seeking a German Payroll Implementation Lead to own complex German payroll projects for international clients, operating in a remote-first setup across Germany. The role focuses on delivering end-to-end implementations, ensuring compliance with German payroll legislation, and mentoring peers.

You will engage with global clients, manage cross-functional stakeholders, and drive process improvements while maintaining high data accuracy and timely go-lives.

Qualifications

• End-to-end German payroll experience within a payroll provider, bureau or outsourced payroll environment.
• Experience delivering German payroll implementations from discovery through to go-live.
• Strong knowledge of German payroll legislation, tax and statutory compliance.
• Fluent German and English (written and spoken) is essential.
• Confident working with payroll systems and reporting tools, with strong Excel skills.
• Experience reconciling payroll data and resolving complex payroll issues.
• Strong project management and stakeholder management skills.
• Process-driven mindset with a passion for improving ways of working.
• Comfortable working in a global, remote-first environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end German payroll implementation projects for new clients.
• Act as the payroll SME for Germany throughout the implementation lifecycle.
• Support client discovery sessions, project kick-offs and solution workshops.
• Manage implementations through configuration, testing, parallel runs and successful go-live.
• Produce clear implementation documentation and handover packs for Payroll Operations.
• Build and manage project plans, ensuring milestones and deadlines are achieved.
• Partner closely with internal teams including Sales, Product, Operations and Engineering.
• Identify process improvements and help shape best practice across implementations.
• Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and contribute to payroll product enhancements.
• Mentor colleagues and provide guidance on German payroll legislation and implementation best practice.
