Our international Payroll team is looking for a new talent, starting at the earliest possible time as European Payroll Administrator . (m / f / d)

permanent, full time role

How you’ll add value

In this role, you will oversee payroll delivery in several assigned countries, collaborating with ADP payroll vendor and interacting closely with the Human Resources and Benefits Departments. The role reports to the European Payroll Manager and can be located in either Leipzig (Germany) or Manchester (UK).

What you'll do
  • Partner with ADP to prepare monthly payrolls and year-end statements for Switzerland and Germany, with backup support for France and Belgium.
  • Serve as the main contact for employees regarding payroll matters, responding promptly to inquiries from internal and external sources.
  • Assist in developing policies and procedures for payroll processes and documenting SOPs for all payroll operations.
  • Ensure timely completion of post-payroll activities, including labor distribution records, vacation and sick leave accruals, overtime, and withholding statuses.
  • Work with payroll and compliance vendors to meet all government reporting requirements for payroll taxes, withholdings, and employer contributions.
  • Support data requests from Audit, HR, and Finance departments, including internal controls, general ledger queries, employee reports, and statutory filings such as accident insurance, severely disabled levy, and life insurance.
  • Stay updated on local employment laws, data privacy, and tax regulations across countries, identifying and addressing potential payroll compliance risks.
  • Support other duties and projects as assigned.
What you'll bring
  • Vocational training with additional or advanced training in payroll processing, or a Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting.
  • Several years of experience in payroll accounting.
  • Initial experience working with ADP is preferred; Workday experience is a plus.
  • Extensive experience with end-to-end payroll processing and operations.
  • Knowledge of Swiss and German tax laws, social security regulations, and certification processes.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially advanced Excel skills with large data sets, formulas, and pivot tables.
  • Fluent in German and good command of English; French skills are a plus.
  • Proactive, motivated, results-oriented, and driven to achieve objectives.
  • Highly accurate with strong judgment, discretion, and numerical affinity.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team, sharing information and collaborating effectively.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills, including issue identification and prioritization.
  • A hands-on mentality is preferred.
