• Investigate and resolve claim denials and identify trends
• Contribute to process improvements to enhance reimbursement outcomes
• Communicate with team members and stakeholders to clarify billing requirements
• Track deadlines and plan billing activities for timely completion
• Apply knowledge of the U.S. healthcare system and OCHIN solutions to billing operations
• Provide billing and customer service support to OBS member clinics and patients
• Manage self-pay accounts and inquiries
• Handle daily claims production including printing, mailing, and preparing documentation for clean claim submission
• Support Acute Care billing operations
• Travel nationally for on-site Go Live support when required
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Rural hospital experience required for Acute Care hospital work
• Self Pay experience required
• Epic experience highly preferred
• Critical Access Hospital Billing experience highly preferred
• Experience in billing and/or coding revenue cycle experience preferred
• Working knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, MVA, Workers Comp, and private insurance billing and reimbursement processes preferred
• Knowledge of legal requirements preferred
• FQHC/RHC experience and knowledge preferred
• Medical Billing Certification from the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC) preferred
• Completion of a 50–60-minute competency assessment before the team interview
• Ability to work independently and efficiently from a home office environment
• High Speed Internet Service
• Ability to work in a distraction-free workplace
• Travel required up to 20% nationally for on-site Go Live support based on business requirements
• Reading, speaking, writing, and understanding English
• Ability to work on camera for all virtual meetings
• Ability to use standard office equipment such as computers and mobile devices
• COVID-19 vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required before hire
