Jobtailor is seeking a skilled Medical Billing Specialist to support OBS member clinics in revenue cycle management for acute care facilities. The role emphasizes claims processing, account management, and adherence to payer guidelines using OCHIN systems and Epic software.

The ideal candidate has rural hospital experience, CPT/ICD coding knowledge, and a Medical Billing Certification (AAPC). Remote work from a home office with national travel for Go Live support is expected.

Qualifikationen

• Rural hospital experience is required for Acute Care hospital work.
• Epic experience highly preferred.
• Provider-based, inpatient, surgery, or ER billing experience highly preferred.
• Critical Access Hospital billing experience preferred.
• Experience in billing and/or coding revenue cycle
• Medicare/Medicaid/MVA/Workers Comp/private insurance billing knowledge preferred.
• FQHC/RHC experience and knowledge preferred.
• Medical Billing Certification from AAPC preferred.
• Completion of a 50–60 minute competency assessment required before team interview.
• Ability to work independently from a home office.

• Process claims, manage accounts receivable, and maintain documentation in compliance with payer guidelines and OCHIN systems
• Investigate and resolve claim denials, identify trends, and contribute to process improvements that enhance reimbursement outcomes
• Communicate with team members and stakeholders to clarify billing requirements
• Track deadlines and plan billing activities for timely and efficient task completion
• Apply knowledge of the U.S. healthcare system and OCHIN solutions to billing operations
• Provide revenue cycle and account management services to OBS member clients, primarily supporting Acute Care
• Manage self-pay accounts and customer inquiries or handle daily claims production, including printing, mailing, and preparing clean-claim documentation
• Provide billing and customer service support to OBS member clinics and their patients
• Travel nationally for on-site Go Live support based on business requirements
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Rural hospital experience required for Acute Care hospital work
• Epic experience highly preferred
• Provider-based, inpatient, surgery, or emergency room billing experience highly preferred
• Critical Access Hospital Billing experience highly preferred
• Experience in billing and/or coding revenue cycle experience preferred
• Working knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, MVA, Workers Comp, and private insurance billing and reimbursement processes preferred
• Knowledge of legal requirements preferred
• FQHC/RHC experience and knowledge preferred
• Medical Billing Certification from the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC) preferred
• Completion of a 50–60-minute competency assessment required before the team interview
• Ability to work independently and efficiently from a home office environment

• Reading, speaking, writing, and understanding English
• Ability to work on camera for all virtual meetings
• COVID-19 vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required as a condition of employment
