Airbus is seeking an entry-level engineer to develop optical and quantum communication satellite payloads. This role will involve system engineering tasks, technology development for next-gen payloads, and hands-on work with optical laser setups. Ideal candidates should possess a Master’s degree in relevant fields and exhibit strong teamwork skills while being fluent in English and German.
Over the course of six decades, TESAT has developed in-depth expertise in manufacturing payload equipment for communication satellites and has established itself as a clear European market leader. Located on its 60,000m² premises in Backnang, Germany, approximately 1,100 employees develop, assemble, integrate, and test systems and equipment for satellite communication. TESAT has been pioneering the development and production of spaceborne laser communication terminals for over 20 years.
To maintain its technological edge, TESAT heavily invests in quantum technologies. The company is involved in numerous national and international quantum cryptographic pilot projects and explores applications for spaceborne quantum sensing and metrology.
