Investigate technical solutions for programs or products, focusing on optical systems and simulations.
Develop front-end beam steering concepts for optical systems, using tools like Zemax or FRED for analysis, optimization, and tolerance calculations.
Design optical components and modules based on project requirements.
Collaborate with engineering, IP, production, quality assurance, and service teams to develop solutions for lasers and optics.
Evaluate and translate requirement specifications into feasible optical design requirements.
Develop qualification plans and test procedures for optical units.
Support production by creating test benches, conducting root cause analysis, and solving production issues.
Participate in prototype development and optical test benches for new products.
Prepare technical documentation and specifications for product development.
Communicate with international customers on technical aspects.
You inspire us with that:
Masters degree in optical engineering, Electronics, Semi-Conductor engineering, Photonics, physics, or related field; Ph.D. preferred.
3+ years experience in designing optical systems (e.g., cameras, displays, depth sensors).
Experience with industrial development processes desired.
Knowledge of lens manufacturing methods (e.g., cast molding, injection molding, free-form surfaces, diamond turning, coating).
Knowledge in laser and detector physics recommended.
Practical experience with Zemax, FRED, Matlab, Python, LightTools, LabView.
Experience with automotive processes (ASPICE).
Excellent communication skills in German and English; strong teamwork skills.
