Ocean Freight Export Manager (m/f/d) for our Düsseldorf office

Your responsibilities:

1. Strategic Responsibilities:
   • Develop and implement logistics plans and procedures for the ocean freight export department.
   • Manage the operational budget and participate in financial planning.
   • Establish and monitor profit ratios in collaboration with the manager.
   • Set objectives and conduct performance reviews for the team twice a year.
2. Operational Responsibilities:
   • Lead and manage the operations team.
   • Oversee the operational budget and contribute to financial planning.
   • Ensure compliance with operational regulations and proper documentation.
   • Set and review Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and establish performance standards.
3. Customer Focus:
   • Maintain and develop relationships with key customers.
   • Drive growth of existing and new customer portfolios in line with company strategy.
4. Innovation & Process Optimization:
   • Review and improve workflows to enhance productivity.
   • Leverage IT tools to increase operational efficiency.
   • Implement cost-saving initiatives and contribute to business innovation.
5. Talent Development:
   • Develop plans to maintain a leadership pipeline and foster growth within the team.
6. Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
   • Ensure all KPIs meet customer expectations.
   • Guarantee team members meet deadlines.
   • Review and improve process flows, documenting as needed.
   • Conduct internal system training for staff.
   • Ensure correct and timely billing.
   • Prepare reports for customers and internal teams.

Job Requirements

Your profile:

• 10-15 years of experience, with at least 5-8 years in management within Ocean Freight.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent; additional qualifications in supply chain management are advantageous.
• Managerial experience in operations.
• Ability to adapt quickly to changing policies and procedures.
• Proficient in German and English, both written and spoken.
