Qualifikationen

• Über 10 Jahre Erfahrung in der Projektcharterung und im Schwerlasttransport.
• Fähigkeit, komplexe Probleme zu lösen und Ergebnisse global zu steuern.

Job Description:

Your tasks

1. Develop and grow relationships and future business with targeted carriers.
2. Develop a carrier pool for DB Schenker considering DB Schenker requirements.
3. Point of contact for Global Projects & Industry Solutions team charter enquiries.
4. Point of contact for carriers for inquiries and quotes.
5. Chartering role acting as broker between internal customers/colleagues and external carriers.
6. Enhance cooperation between carriers and DB Schenker in the region.
7. Grow and develop the chartering team and knowledge in Europe.
8. Actively respond to internal DB Schenker requests for solutions & prices from carriers and maintain direct local relationships with relevant stakeholders from the carrier side.
9. Work closely with the local & regional business development team to develop innovative solutions to ensure DB Schenker's growth in the ocean chartering business.
10. Educate business development on chartering and participate in sales/solution discussions with clients as required.
11. Ensure ocean chartering is undertaken safely and complies with DB Schenker guidelines and operational procedures.
12. Minimize DB Schenker's liability exposure on charter bookings via carrier/vessel vetting and negotiating favorable terms with carriers and/or clients.
13. Report functionally to the Head of Global Chartering.

Key Tasks

1. Grow the regional/local chartering team and be a central focal point together with other regional and global chartering team members.
2. Receive enquiries from DB Schenker Global Projects & Industry Solutions Team for Ocean charters with cargo originating from Europe.
3. Analyze enquiries and determine strategy and solution for the charter scope and the most suitable carrier to win the bid/tender.
4. Create an overview and present pricing and solution recommendations.
5. Assist colleagues/business development to quote customers.
6. Drive competitive pricing, compliance, and carrier management.
7. Translate and explain pricing/requirements internally and DB Schenker/Client requirements externally towards carriers.
8. Initiate and explore all possible options for optimal results.
9. Drive and support agreed pricing processes, data quality, and compliance.
10. Ensure competitive pricing through the use of various benchmarking tools.
11. Be a Subject Matter Expert for colleagues and clients.
12. Support and assist other Chartering Regions when required.

Requirements

1. Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience/qualification.
2. More than 10 years of relevant business experience in project chartering and heavy lift.
3. Commercial mindset with technical flair/understanding.
4. Carrier and project cargo background.
5. Solid networking abilities.
6. Highly analytical, forward-thinking, and creative mindset.
7. Experience working in a matrix organization and driving results globally.
8. Ability to work in a multi-cultural, dynamic, and high-pressure environment.
9. Conduct data analyses, develop statistical models, and implement solutions with the respective subject matter experts.
10. Propose solutions and/or seek required input to support countries/regions with issues.
11. Experience working with multiple countries/cultures.
12. Subject matter expert applying advanced knowledge of job area typically obtained through advanced education and work experience.
13. Manage projects/processes, working independently with limited supervision.
14. Ability to solve difficult and complex problems.

2. Collaborate with other chartering brokers located in the region and countries.
3. Convince others to accept new concepts, practices, and approaches.

6. Provide technical and commercial guidance to line managers and employees.
