The Role

As the Nurse/ Midwife Management Coordinator, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operational and personnel management of a Remote Primary Health Centre. Leading a small multidisciplinary health team and overseeing clinical governance and safe practice in all aspects of service delivery. You will also ensure that services are delivered cost-effectively and culturally appropriately to meet the needs of clients and their families.

This role requires participation in a 24/7 Emergency on-call roster and there may be travel required to provide relief in other remote sites at short notice.

Who We’re Looking For

To be successful, applicants will:

• Have extensive nursing experience, skills, and applied knowledge in the Aboriginal health context.
• Possess a minimum of 2 years previous clinical experience in a remote setting.
• Understand issues affecting Aboriginal health, principles of Primary Health Care, and relevant legislation governing work practices in a remote health setting.
• Hold current vaccination, remote emergency, and maternity emergency certifications.
• Have experience driving a manual vehicle, with eligibility to obtain an NT Drivers licence.
• Ability to travel via 4WD or light aircraft to remote communities in Central Australia.
