Job Summary:

Serve as the primary contact for new accounts in the hazardous locations and industrial equipment industry, focusing on manufacturers of products used in explosive atmospheres or within the industrial control & automation sector. Develop new business by identifying prospects, nurturing leads, and creating account strategies to attract manufacturing companies that currently do not work with CSA Group. Use research tools and existing relationships to define value propositions, prioritize leads, and develop call plans. Build customer profiles to address why prospects are not currently using CSA and how to demonstrate CSA's value to win their business.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Establish new account relationships to meet sales targets, emphasizing CSA Group's full range of services, especially related to hazardous locations or industrial sectors.
  2. Prospect independently within assigned territories, utilizing various lead generation and direct solicitation methods.
  3. Achieve yearly prospecting, quoting, and sales targets.
  4. Re-engage former CSA customers lost to competitors to regain business.
  5. Develop strategies to transition customers from competitors to CSA Group.
  6. Prepare written proposals and cost estimates for clients, collaborating with technical specialists and operations staff.
  7. Participate in industry associations and external organizations as deemed appropriate.
  8. Provide regular reports on activities, including calls, contacts, proposals, quotes, expenses, travel, and trade shows, and deliver oral presentations as needed.
  9. Analyze industry reports, territory data, and competitive information to inform strategy and reporting.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Proven sales experience in hazardous locations or industrial TIC sales.
  • Strong connections and a successful track record in the Testing, Inspection, and Certification (TIC) sector within hazardous locations or industrial markets.
  • Deep understanding of regulations such as ATEX, IECEx, UKEx, North American hazardous location approvals, or industrial control/automation compliance.
  • Experience with CRM software is a plus.
  • Consistently exceeds sales goals.
  • Ability to engage with senior management in large organizations.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong project management and strategic planning abilities.
  • High initiative and motivation with minimal supervision.
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and CRM applications.
  • Responsive, professional, and positive in customer interactions.
  • Willingness to travel for client meetings, trade shows, and site visits.
  • Valid driver’s license.
