Job Description:

New Role: Experienced Network Security Consultant (m/f/d) - Palo Alto

Start: 01.08.2024
End: 31.01.2025
Volume: Fulltime
Location: Remote / Dortmund
Language: German / English

Details: The consultant delivers consulting network security project activities through medium to long-term engagements requiring varied interpersonal and technical skills. Technical responsibilities include problem identification, system architecture definition, hardware/software specification and/or design, implementation, testing, client training, and solution deployment. Works on problems of complex scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors. Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action.

Key Tasks (Independent Delivery):

1. Identify, assess, and upgrade customer network security technology infrastructure regarding risks and vulnerabilities.
2. Identify gaps in the security architecture, and develop recommendations for long- and short-term roadmap for corrections.
3. Work closely with the Project Manager to ensure that project scope is correctly delivered and that the requirements are defined and delivered.
4. Provide security configuration services around firewall ruleset design, review, implementation, and operation management. If necessary, provide firewall ruleset analysis, workflow automation, and implementation of automation.
5. Assist firewall refresh.
6. Applicable knowledge of:
1. Firewalls (Palo Alto, Palo Alto Prisma)
2. OT Security
3. Network intrusion detection
4. Security audits, diagnostics, forensic tools
5. Management tools and procedures
6. Enterprise security programs
7. Work with minimal supervision as an individual contributor and as part of a team.

Skills:

1. Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) in Computer Science or a related field.
2. 5 - 10 years related network security work experience.
3. 10 or more years of technical experience required, including at least 5 years in security services.
4. 3-5 years of hands-on experience in the following technologies:
1. Palo Alto Firewall
2. Palo Alto Prisma
3. And other technologies such as Checkpoint, Fortinet.
5. Analytical skills required.
6. Experience in implementing and maintaining Network Security Solutions, from designing, implementing to supporting.
7. Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills and be able to write and interpret high- and low-level designs.
8. Document procedures that conform to a prescribed style and format.
9. Present information to management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.

Preferred Skills:

1. Previous consulting experience within a Professional Services organization.
2. Industry certification such as Palo Alto:
1. Palo Alto PCNSE
2. Palo Alto PRISMA SASE
3. CCSP
