goodcarbon is seeking a Nature-based Solutions Analyst to join our Berlin team. You will conduct rigorous due diligence and ongoing monitoring of NbS projects across client portfolios, ensuring high integrity and alignment with current standards.

You will strengthen our proprietary Nature Analytics Framework and work with cutting-edge remote sensing technology and carbon modeling tools, collaborating with external experts globally.

Qualifikationen

• Master’s degree or PhD in environmental science, forestry, conservation, restoration, or related field.
• 3–5 years in due diligence or project development of NbS projects.
• Strong knowledge of NbC methodologies, verification standards, and monitoring tech.
• Experience with remote sensing and carbon modeling methodologies.
• Established network of NbS experts; able to work in an international team.

About this Role

As a Nature-based Solutions Analyst at goodcarbon, you will be part of a dedicated team responsible for conducting rigorous due diligence and ongoing monitoring of nature-based carbon projects across client portfolios. Your work will directly contribute to ensuring that the projects and carbon credits our clients invest in meet the highest standards of integrity and effectiveness. You will play a key role in continuously strengthening goodcarbon’s proprietary Nature Analytics Framework, ensuring it remains aligned with the latest market developments and scientific standards for assessing high-integrity nature-based carbon projects. This position requires a combination of technical analytical skills, scientific expertise, and the ability to translate complex environmental data into clear, actionable insights for clients. Your contributions will span multiple dimensions of the business, from detailed project assessment and technical due diligence to thought leadership and stakeholder engagement. You will work with cutting-edge remote sensing technology and carbon modeling tools while also building and maintaining relationships with external technical experts and project developers globally.

Responsibilities

• Apply the Nature Analytics Framework to assess and monitor nature-based solutions projects within client portfolios, providing clear, actionable insights
• Review carbon projections produced by project developers and conduct remote sensing analysis as part of the due diligence process to confirm project eligibility
• Contribute to the continuous evolution and refinement of goodcarbon’s Nature Analytics Framework
• Build and maintain intelligence on emerging carbon and nature standards, methodologies, and monitoring technologies
• Support content marketing initiatives with insightful and innovative knowledge on nature-based solutions
• Build and manage relationships with external technical advisors and partners

Requirements

• Master’s degree or PhD in environmental science, ideally with a focus on forestry, nature conservation, ecosystem restoration, or carbon sequestration
• 3-5 years of experience in due diligence or project development of nature-based solutions projects
• Strong knowledge of nature-based carbon methodologies, verification standards, and monitoring technologies
• Expertise in remote sensing and carbon modeling
• An established network of experts in nature-based solutions
• Fluency in English; German language skills are a plus
• Ability to work as part of an international team
