We are working in partnership with a leading chemical manufacturing group seeking a Multi-Site Operations Director to oversee multiple high-performing facilities in Germany. This is a pivotal leadership role within a complex, growth-focused business, offering real progression potential for a high-calibre operator.

The Role

Reporting to the European VP of Operations, you will be responsible for driving performance, safety, efficiency, and cultural engagement across several chemical manufacturing sites with a combined turnover of €300 million. You will lead 160 indirect reports through a senior team of 4 direct reports, taking full accountability for P&L performance, operational excellence, and key project execution.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate operational strategy across multiple German manufacturing sites.
• Take full P&L responsibility, driving margin improvement and cost control.
• Mentor and develop site leadership, ensuring a high-performance, motivational culture.
• Oversee cross-site capital investment projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Ensure EHS, quality, and compliance standards are met to the highest levels.
• Champion Lean and Six Sigma methodologies to enhance productivity and reliability.

Ideal Candidate Profile

• Degree qualified, ideally in Chemical Engineering or a related field.
• Proven multi-site operational leadership within the chemical manufacturing industry.
• Strong track record of delivering P&L results, improving operational KPIs, and leading cross-functional teams.
• Experienced in delivering major projects, transformation, or CAPEX programs.
• Personable and motivational leader who builds trust and inspires high performance.
• Committed to career progression within a business that rewards top performers.

Desirable (but not essential)

• Master’s degree in Engineering, Operations or Business.
• Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification.
• Fluent in German and English.
