The role covers planning, integration, and sustainment of LVC environments for USEUCOM/USAFRICA with emphasis on M&S data, federations, and security compliance.

Qualified candidates must hold a SECRET clearance and relevant DoD cyber credentials. Travel may be international; salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Description

SAIC is seeking a Modeling & Simulation (M&S) Systems Analyst, Journeyman to support the Collaborative Operations for Battlespace Resilient Architecture (COBRA) program at the US Air Forces Europe / Air Forces Africa (U-A) Warfare Center (UAWC) in Kaiserslautern, Germany.

(Please note ALL QUALIFIED CANDIDATES MUST POSSESS a SECRET CLEARANCE & Sec+/or equivalent CERTIFICATION)

COBRA provides for the implementation, integration, development, and delivery of Modeling and Simulation (M&S) solutions supporting the U.S. Air Force, Department of Defense, and mission partners conducting multi-domain operations (MDO) in support of Joint All-Domain Command and Control (JADC2) objectives.

The role of this position is to support the delivery, integration, and sustainment of local and distributed live, virtual, and constructive (LVC) training environments for U.S. and partner-nation military forces across the United States European Command (USEUCOM) and United States Africa Command (USAFRICA) Areas of Responsibility.

Duties of the Modeling & Simulation Analyst will include:

• Provide independent Modeling and Simulation (M&S) technical services and support for federations, models, systems, and associated infrastructure throughout the Joint Event Life Cycle (JELC), including planning, preparation, integration, execution, sustainment, and post-event activities.
• Responsibilities include system configuration and configuration management; federation and system integration; functional and operational support; technical testing, verification, and validation; troubleshooting and fault isolation; software and hardware support; training and augmentation support; and development, modification, and maintenance of M&S data and databases, including unit, terrain, visual, and entity data.
• Supported events may include exercises, mission rehearsals, training missions, threat-replication events, functional and operational tests, risk-reduction activities, integration tests, and other M&S-enabled events.
• Identify, evaluate, and recommend innovative M&S technologies, tools, and technical solutions to improve existing capabilities, address identified deficiencies, and support evolving operational and training requirements.
• Reviewtest plans and define/develop test benches for software libraries.
• Ensuremodels and simulations comply with UAWC Information Assurance and network security requirements.
• Provide configuration, integration, and technical support for models, maps, underlays, and terrain databases in preparation for, during, and after events.
• Prepare and present technical briefings and lead discussions with Government, Joint, Allied, and Coalition stakeholders as required.

• DoDM8140.03Information Technology Department of Defense Cyber Workforce Framework (DCWF)451 System Administrator Basic Certification.
• Meet DOCPER Technical Expert education and recent specialized experience requirements for the position.
• Bachelor’s and Five (5) or relevant years of experience in lieu of degree.
• Ability to effectively configure, troubleshoot, and operate M&S federations, models, systems, and their associated components.
• Experience supporting distributed simulation environments using Distributed Interactive Simulation (DIS) and High-Level Architecture (HLA) protocols.
• Understanding of TCP/UDP network communication.
• Understanding of Unicast, Multicast,and Broadcast networking.

Desired Experience/Qualifications:

• Familiarityreviewing and editingsimulation model XML files.
• Basic understanding of common programming languages.
• Experience withWindows and Linux system administration and scripting.
• Experience developing engineering network solutions and technical diagrams, as well as providing port and protocol information for specified systems.
• Experience with M&S federation, simulation, and analysis tools, including configuration and troubleshooting of simulation environments.
• Experience with MAVEN information exchange requirements and the integration, stimulation, or emulation of required data feeds within distributed M&S environments.
• Proficient using MS Office including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, SharePoint, and Teams.
• Experience working in a virtual computing environment.
• Experience using networking tools such as Wireshark.
• Understandingof basiccomputer hardware maintenance.
• Experience supporting Joint, Allied, Coalition, or NATO distributed training environments.

Travel-Internationaltravel of up to20%.

Expected Salary Range- Highly dependent on candidate qualifications.

• $90.000-130,000
