For a project at our well-known, international customer AIRBUS in Manching, we are looking for you as a Mission System Machine Learning Engineer

Your tasks

TASKS

In Platform Operational Support it is the development of software for mission support systems and services for all flying platforms in the portfolio such as Eurofighter, A400M, Eurodrone and FCAS. These systems are essential for the pilots of the aircraft to plan and prepare all the information they require during their flight like routes, sensor deployment or setup of communication networks.

Due to the increasing complexity of mission planning, a growing number of mission participants and the need to replan ever faster, new challenges arise for mission planning systems. The department meets these challenges with tailor-made software solutions, which are continuously optimised for efficient and effective mission planning processes.

The Main Tasks Are

Design, develop, and implement secure and efficient federated machine learning systems to train large language models across decentralized data sources

Collaborate cross-functionally with the research team to integrate cutting-edge LLM techniques into the products

Take over software engineering tasks throughout the life cycle of the development projects, including software design according to the provided requirements, software implementation, unit and integration testing

Work on software and interface design tasks considering aspects like feasibility, reusability, maintainability, safety, technical performance and IT-security

Live the agile values, continuously identifying and leveraging improvement potential and contributing to an increase of automation

Foster collaboration within the project team and with involved stakeholders

Qualifications

• Study of computer science at least Master / Diploma degree or equivalent qualification
• A thorough foundation as developer of embedded systems or mobile applications is necessary
• Managing Source code management systems and consider continuous deployment is a must have
• Experience or interest in data analysis and visualization in the mission planning domain is desired
• Theoretical or even practical knowledge of development processes (e. g. Scrum, V-Model) is required
• Language skills: English at least business fluent, German knowledge is nice to have
