Job Overview

TE Connectivity's Product Management Teams manage all aspects of a product, from driving new product development to manufacturing to marketing. They are responsible for overall product strategy, business leadership, and capacity plans to meet sales and profit targets.

This position collaborates with all functions of the company, including but not limited to R&D, Sales, Marketing, Business Development, Manufacturing & Operations, Finance, Legal, and Sales Operations.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

Strategy Development

  • Outline a clear portfolio strategy for the assigned product family that positions the business to deliver strong financial results, including organic growth through expansion of the product portfolio (NPIs), launching new products, and inorganic strategies like M&A and partnerships.
  • Create breakthroughs via new market entry, products, business models, or acquisitions, through an effective ideas funnel and active experimentation.
  • Communicate the vision and strategy throughout the organization, tying it to clear plans and metrics, and securing buy-in through early engagement.
  • Understand market trends, customer needs, industry dynamics, and the competitive landscape.
  • Develop in-depth knowledge of major competitors to leverage for strategic decision-making.
  • Create product and technology roadmaps aligned with business strategy and market needs.
  • Collaborate with R&D and operations to develop new products meeting current and future customer requirements.
  • Drive partnerships and acquisitions to build scale and relevance, maintaining a pipeline of M&A targets aligned with the portfolio strategy.

Develop Business Plan

  • Define resource requirements for executing product and technology roadmaps.
  • Establish and implement pricing policies.
  • Partner with regional product management teams to drive strategy execution.
  • Work with sales to develop and accelerate go-to-market strategies.
  • Coordinate with operations to define service models to win in the market.
  • Focus on key value drivers and priorities, actively engaging in relevant business activities.
  • Build close relationships with key customers and distributors for the product family.

Drive the full P&L

  • Manage sales and gross margin for the product line.
  • Achieve growth through effective NPI and market share gains.
  • Expand gross margins YoY through pricing strategies, operational efficiencies, and product mix improvements.
  • Lead projects for competitive advantage.
  • Monitor progress and address gaps in the business plan.
  • Establish an operating rhythm to ensure predictable topline and bottom-line results.

Talent Management

  • Manage and motivate a multicultural team of product managers globally.
  • Develop skill enhancement and career progression plans for team members.
  • Create succession plans for key roles.
  • Foster a culture of humility, learning, and continuous improvement.
  • Communicate effectively across organizational levels.

Qualifications and Responsibilities:

  • 5+ years of product management experience in an industrial environment with an international scope.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering; MBA preferred or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in corporate strategy or consulting is a plus.
  • Proven leadership in channel, market, product management, and sales targets.
  • Leadership experience, direct or indirect.
