Westinghouse Electric invites applications for a Senior Metering Project Engineer - E&C. The role is based in Florida with hybrid schedule in West Palm Beach or Daytona/Sanford; remote work with ~10% travel; 1-year contract (W-2).

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
• 15+ years in P&C/Substation/Metering Engineering and Project Management experience.
• 3+ years of project management experience.
• Ability to read protection and control drawings.
• Understanding of instrument transformers (CT, PTs, CVTs).
• Familiarity with metering technologies, especially Schneider Electric ION‑8650 meters.
• Knowledge of meter‑to‑meter (peer‑to‑peer) schemes.
• Experience with loss compensation methods for transformers and generator tie lines.
• Ability to program meters or create metering templates.

Opportunity Overview

Senior Metering Project Engineer - E&C position base in Florida.
Location: West Palm Beach, FL or Daytona/Sanford, FL (Hybrid Schedule). Remote work with ~10% travel. 1‑year contract assignment (W‑2). The role is Technical Metering Project Manager/Engineer overseeing metering systems for renewable design and construction. The incumbent will monitor project requirements and commercial agreements from concept through commissioning, coordinating with engineering, development, business management, transmission services, and external teams. Knowledge of substation design and complex metering systems is required. Reports to onsite manager.

• Provide engineering design support

Who You Are

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering
• 15+ years in P&C/Substation/Metering Engineering and Project Management experience
• 3+ years of project management experience required
• Ability to read protection and control drawings
• Understanding of instrument transformers (CT, PTs, CVTs) including type, accuracy and burden
• Familiarity with metering technologies, especially Schneider Electric ION‑8650 meters
• Knowledge of meter‑to‑meter (peer‑to‑peer) schemes
• Familiarity with loss compensation methods for transformers, including iron and copper losses
• Experience with generator tie line loss compensation and sharing losses among different technologies or PPA customers
• Ability to program meters or create metering templates

Benefits

Competitive pay to all of our employees. The base salary range for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be $65.00/hr to $70.00/hr.
