Jobbeschreibung

MES Technical Lead – Software Engineer, Rockwell Automation, Inc., Milwaukee, WI:

Design, develop, implement, enhance, and maintain Manufacturing Execution System / Manufacturing Operations Management (MES/MOM) systems, used by customers. Integrate manufacturing processes with business systems to optimize production efficiency, quality, and safety. Work with customers to understand their manufacturing business objectives and translate them into MES/MOM system requirements. Determine optimal MES solutions including applicable hardware and software configurations and architecture. Perform systems design and assist with implementing MES system strategies to meet customers’ requirements. Suggest and evaluate system architecture options. Collaborate with colleagues, clients, and vendors on configuration of system components and development of common-reusable artifacts. Participate in the development and integration of software components to create best in class MES applications. Conduct testing, troubleshooting, and ongoing maintenance of MES/MOM to ensure system reliability and accuracy of data. Provide customer-site system start-up and commissioning as required. Collaborate and work as part of an international project team.

Full time employment, Monday – Friday, 40 hours per week.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Must have a bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Information Technology, Applied Computer Science, or a related field, and 5 years of progressive post-baccalaureate related work experience.

Alternatively, the employer will accept a master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Information Technology, Applied Computer Science, or a related field and 3 years of related work experience.

Must have 3 years of experience in each of the following:

  • Programming languages including C, Java, or SQL;
  • Integrating Manufacturing Execution Systems and Manufacturing Operations Management systems (MES/MOM) with shop floor and enterprise systems automation and enterprise systems such as ERP, CMMS, and LIMS;
  • Developing system architectures to support MES/MOM data collection, reporting and product genealogy;
  • Implementing FactoryTalk ProductionCentre (FTPC) to maximize manufacturing operational efficiency;
  • Creating, updating, and administering Relational Database Management Systems (RDBMS) such as Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server;
  • Using Java Database Connectivity (JDBC) to standardize the process of connecting Java applications to RDBMS;
  • Building web applications using Java Enterprise Edition (JEE) Application Programming;
  • Implementing Java Web Application frameworks including Spring, JavaServer Faces (JSF), Google Web Toolkit (GWT), or Grails;
  • Using Open Database Connectivity (ODBC) for accessing RDBMs; and
  • Industrial computing, networking, and open platform communications (OPC) data communications using FactoryTalk Services Platform (FTSP) and Kepware.

The position requires travel to various unanticipated worksite locations throughout the U.S approximately every 3 months for up to 3 weeks to meet with customers to review the work and scope of various contracts. When not required on-site, 100% telecommuting is permitted.
