Applied Materials’ APG (Automation Products Group, factory solution software group) seeks to hire a MES Application Engineer to represent our 300mm MES 300works as part of our global CIM solution, focusing on modeling, function training, and product support, either onsite or offsite.

Key Responsibilities

1. Provide MES production support, MES product delivery support, and CIM delivery project support.
2. Organize meetings concerning all phases of product & project lifecycle (requirement collection, specification, development and testing, delivery, and sign-off).
3. Determine solutions for customer requirements through the application of MES, including analyzing customer manufacturing issues and requirements, understanding the customer environment, documenting processes, mapping processes on CIM components, and interfacing with software engineers on MES application functionality and operation.
4. Participate in documentation reviews as appropriate.
5. Engage in ongoing training for customers regarding sales and marketing issues.
6. Stay updated on new technologies and products by attending classes, seminars, conferences, and/or presentations.
7. Meet department and/or company quality standards.

Requirements

1. Fluency in English; proficiency in German or French is a plus.
2. Minimum of 5 years experience in an industrial environment.
3. Experience as a module engineer in a semiconductor fab is a plus.
4. Preferred major in 300mm Industrial Engineering or Manufacturing Science with a solid understanding of factory automation systems.
5. Experience working with 300works/FACTORYworks is a plus.
6. Strong FAB operation domain, with the ability to recommend and deploy modeling structure to users.
7. Understanding of key manufacturing science concepts (e.g., semi-auto and full-auto scenarios, semi equipment process scenarios, FAB operation scenarios, process control behavior, lot dispatch logic, EAP behavior) to sustain factory dispatching, control, and automation policies.
8. Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, along with presentation skills.
9. Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management and colleagues.
10. Understanding of complex factory CIM systems and human interactions.
11. Preferred: proficiency in C++, C#, web programming, and SQL programming.
