Job summary

Turner & Townsend in Berlin seeks a part-time MEP Project Manager with several years of experience in major construction projects, preferably data centre builds. You will oversee planning and implementation of MEP systems, collaborate with design and construction teams, and drive cost management and timely delivery.

Strong English and German (B2) language skills are required, along with a university degree in construction management.

Qualifications

• University degree in Construction Management or a related field.
• Several years experience as a MEP Project Manager for major construction projects; experiences in Data Centre Construction projects preferred.
• Fluent English language skills as well as min. B2 German language level required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the planning, design, and implementation of MEP systems to ensure they meet project specifications, codes, and standards.
• Collaborate with architects, engineers, and construction teams to integrate MEP systems into the overall project design.
• Analyse, track and effectively manage critical milestone activities to avoid schedule slip.
• Review construction proposals and related pricing/scopes, manage project budgets, and control costs within financial limits.
• Support engineering decisions relating to the project cost and budget while design-build changes take place during construction.
• Review, correct and assess work-in-place, to approve capital expenditure spends.
• Facilitate communication between project stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and team members, to ensure a clear understanding of MEP requirements and project timelines.

• Oversee the planning, design, and implementation of MEP systems to ensure they meet project specifications, codes, and standards.

• Run and lead client and other required meetings.
• Identify factors that influence construction costs and monitor and report on this data.
• Review requests for payment.
• Track and ensure equipment meets the project schedule.
• Record occurrence that might result in a claim - acting on the client’s behalf.
• Review and approve final invoices, payment applications, retention payments.

Qualifications

• University degree in Construction Management or a related field.
• several years experience as a MEP Project Manager for major construction projects;experiences in Data Centre Construction projects preferred.
• Advanced skills with spreadsheets, report writing and presentations.
• Strong and professional communication skills, with great organization skills, ability to multi-task.
• Must have a “team attitude”, be self-motivated and be willing to support other groups and projects when required.
• Entrepreneurial thinking, creativity and dynamism.
• Fluent English language skills as well as min. B2 German language level required.
