Jobbeschreibung

The MSL is responsible for Medical Affairs in Germany for a treatment in Ophthalmology during the post-launch phase, with potential involvement in pre-launch activities for new products. The MSL collaborates closely with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) and aligns with the Brand Strategy. Responsibilities include organizing advisory boards at the national level, delivering abstracts at local congresses, publications, and presentations in partnership with KOLs. The MSL serves as the medical expert on the product, providing scientific education to healthcare professionals (HCPs) and colleagues through presentations and training. Additionally, the MSL supplies medical content and briefing for KOLs at congresses, and works in tandem with Marketing & Sales by providing medical insights for marketing materials and projects, ensuring compliance with industry codes.

Major tasks & responsibilities (70% field):

  1. Execution of the Medical strategy plan at country level:
  2. Mapping of disease experts and KOL insights on the product
  3. Developing links with and supporting national networks in the therapeutic area
  4. Collaborating with Market Access to ensure product inclusion in guidelines
  5. Organizing local Advisory Boards (content, objectives, speakers, attendees, contracting)
  6. Creating local publications and congress posters aligned with the product strategy
  7. Acting as the first medical contact at congresses and symposia
  8. Providing medical input for presentations, briefing KOLs for congress presentations within brand strategy
  9. Handling medical information requests and medical presentations to HCPs within brand strategy
  10. Managing Investigator-Initiated Trials (IIT): internal approval and contracting
  11. Approving contracts for external activities with HCPs
  12. Developing medical training materials and delivering training to commercial colleagues on disease and product knowledge
  13. Providing medical and strategic input on marketing projects and materials in collaboration with the EU Marketing & Sales Manager
  14. Ensuring all medical and marketing activities comply with pharmaceutical industry codes

Education Qualifications:

  • (Bio)medical or scientific academic degree
  • Training in pharmaceutical compliance rules
  • Presentation and training skills
  • Minimum five years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry
  • At least two years in Medical Affairs
  • Operational experience in pre-launch and launch activities
  • Experience in Ophthalmology preferred
